As an eye doctor and the owner of Chagrin Valley Optometrist since 1988, Dr. Jurcak has treated thousands of patients in the Chagrin Valley area. He combines experience with thoroughness and personalized care in every patient encounter. He enjoys providing full scale comprehensive eye examinations to adults and children alike including the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease and contact lens management. Dr. Jurcak’s area of interest is with individuals with special vision needs such as focusing, visual processing, and eye motor problems. In designing a vison therapy program he is able to work with these patients to help them maximize their functional vision to gain a better quality of life. His work is proof that vision means more than just what you can see on the eye chart.
After completing undergraduate work at The Ohio State University, Dr. Jurcak went on there to earn his doctorate in optometry in 1986. He is member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and the Optometric Extension Program. He resides in Burton with his wife Sylvia and has three grown children Andrew, Jessica and Noelle. Dr. Jurcak remains highly active in the community. The Cleveland native is member of the Chagrin Valley Rotary Club and served as its president from 2008 to 2009. He is also board member of the Geauga County Historical Society.
Dr. Lewis has worked with Dr. Jurcak on a part time basis at Chagrin Valley Optometrists over the past ten years. Building the new office space allowed her to partner with Dr. Jurcak and merge her Beachwood practice allowing her to work full time at Chagrin Valley Optometrists. She is fully committed to lifetime whole eye health, preventative care, and the treatment of chronic eye conditions and diseases. Her specialty interest is geared toward the pediatric population in the treatment of nearsightedness with orthokeratology. However she remains dedicated to comprehensive primary eye care including contact lens management as well as the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease.
Dr. Lewis received her O.D. from the Illinois College Of Optometry and a B.S. from John Carroll University. She is an active member of the International Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control and Women of Vision. Outside of the office, her life revolves around her family including husband Michael and her two young children Holden and Avery. Their two Boston Terriers, also part of the family, provide hilarious comic relief at home. As in her practice, she is passionate about exercise, proper nutrition and healthy living. A competitive swimmer while in school, her fitness commitment continues today with regular cross-training and running. In fact, Dr. Lewis and her husband enjoyed ballroom dancing and west coast swing before the children came along. They hope to get back to it one day.
Together Dr. Jurcak and Dr. Lewis are able to offer a wide range of services that go beyond traditional eye care including:
